We also enjoyed the road car challenge that taught on biofuel while pretending to travel in a car across the state. We enjoyed the music area the most with all the different instruments to play on and the voice recording room in which I got a little carried away in. This museum is very educational and have many interactive activities including ones for those gamers in the family. First skeptical because i have a 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter who found Children's Museum in Atlanta to be too pre-k for them even at a younger age. Otherwise the traveling exhibits are great because there is always something new there several times a year. So just be prepared for these issues if you visit this museum. Why have employees or chaperones if they are not going to say anything when a 9 year old snatches something out of my 4 year old's hands? I end up playing referee and that is not fun for me. Almost every time we encounter a large group of kids the employees nor the chaperones do anything to make sure the big kids don't hog the exhibits or run over the little kids. The other issue that comes up is school groups or camp groups. So even with my membership we have to pay at least $7 every time we visit. When you have small children it is not safe nor easy to park on the street or way off and walk to get to the museum. That is outrageous! CDM does not own that parking lot, but they probably should buy it off of Republic Parking for their visitors. I wanted to write another review though about how now the closest and safest parking lot to park in to visit the museum has gone from charging $5 to $7. They always have a good time when visiting. We have had a membership since my 5 year old twin boys were babies. I have written a positive review about it before. You can step outside on the second floor to participate in the Rooftop Fun Factory.I do loves this children's museum. In addition to exploring the large exhibit on display, kids can take part in several other activities on the second floor of the museum. You can check the Creative Discovery Museum’s official website before visiting to see which exhibit they are featuring as they tend to change with the seasons. A large portion of the Creative Discovery Museum’s second floor houses the traveling exhibit that is being featured. While visiting the museum, you can take the stairs or the elevator to the second floor. It features soft climbing toys that are loads of fun! Traveling Exhibits There is also a small slide, car, and a train set in this area.Ī small portion of the room is even gated off for babies. There is a huge play house with tables, chairs, kitchen appliances, laundry machines, and plastic foods where little ones love to play. The Little Yellow House has all sorts of fun activities, so even the smallest kids don’t feel left out. This play area is for those children who are four and under. Toddler Play Areaĭirectly across from the Corner Clinic is the Little Yellow House. They can also play numerous musical instruments like drums, harps, guitars, etc. Parking is available in back of the museum near AT&T Field where the Chattanooga Lookouts play. This makes it an easy stop for other activities you have planned in the city. The Creative Discovery Museum is located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga on Chestnut Street.
